Night closures planned for eastbound SR 16 at Nalley Valley

Crews will make a significant step toward completing new on-ramps from South Sprague Avenue to northbound and southbound Interstate 5 by installing more bridge girders over a series of upcoming nights beginning next week.
In order to safely install the girders, the roadway lanes near the activity must be closed. Drivers should plan ahead for a series of total night closures on eastbound State Route 16 at South Union Avenue. In addition, crews will close all lanes of South Tacoma Way over one night.
Closure details:
Wednesday and Thursday, March 19-20
9 p.m. - closing left lane of eastbound SR 16 at South Union Avenue and the South Union Avenue on-ramp to eastbound SR 16.
11 p.m. - closing all eastbound SR 16 lanes at South Union Avenue. Detour via South Union Avenue.
The roadway and ramp will reopen by 4:30 a.m. each following morning.
Monday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 26
9 p.m. – closing left lane of eastbound SR 16 at South Union Avenue and the South Union Avenue on-ramp to eastbound SR 16.
11 p.m. – closing all eastbound SR 16 lanes at South Union Avenue. Detour via South Union Avenue.
The roadway and ramp will reopen by 4:30 a.m. each following morning.
Thursday, March 27
9 p.m. – closing left lane of eastbound SR 16 at South Union Avenue and the South Union Avenue on-ramp to eastbound SR 16.
9 p.m. – closing South Tacoma Way between South Pine and South Wilkeson streets. Detour via South Center Street.
11 p.m. – closing all eastbound SR 16 lanes at South Union Avenue. Detour via South Union Avenue.
All roadways and ramps will reopen by 4:30 a.m. Friday, March 28.
This work is part of the I-5/SR 16 Eastbound Nalley Valley project, which is scheduled to be complete this summer.
