Paving and pedestrian work begins Monday, June 16 on SR 509

Work begins on June 16 to replace pavement and modify ADA ramps along State Route 509 in Tacoma from Alexander Avenue to Norpoint Way. 

During the week of June 16, construction crews will begin to remove the sidewalk and ADA ramps on SR 509 at the intersections of Alexander Avenue and Taylor Way. 

Drivers should expect a right lane closure at each intersection on northbound SR 509 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and on Friday from 7 a.m. to noon. 

Drivers going southbound on SR 509 should expect a right lane closure Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
