Pet of the Week: Shia

Are you looking to bring some peace and tranquility to your home? Are you looking for a companion who's low maintenance and loving? Then you need to meet Shia!

This wonderful 6 year old black kitty was brought to our shelter in mid-January, as his owners could no longer afford to keep him. Shia is a very sweet boy, but is equally as shy. It takes him a bit longer to warm up to strangers, but scratching his head is a great way to break the ice! Since he is on the shy side and somewhat skittish, it is recommended that he goes to a calm and quite home without young children.

Shia has had positive interactions with both cats and dogs in the past, but a slow introduction to any other pet(s) would be necessary. Shia is also a bit overweight, so his new family will have to keep him on a new food regiment. This handsome guy is a declawed cat, so keeping him safe inside is a priority!
