Recycle your holiday lights

It’s easy being green

Recycle your old holiday lights at the Zoo!

No need to fret about what to do with those burned out, broken or just plain energy-hog holiday lights. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is partnering with Girl Scouts of Western Washington to keep thousands of strings of old lights out of landfills.

Donations will do good for more than the environment, too. Proceeds help fund tiger conservation initiatives and resource saving programs at the Zoo.

So, go ahead and recycle. You've got the green light.

You can bring them to the Zoo or to one of a dozen other sites around Puget Sound.

TIPS FOR RECYCLING LIGHTS

  • Please remove all packaging, twist-ties and rubber bands.
  • Please place lights directly in the bin -- with no bags or other extra material.
