Shake, Rattle & Grill at the 4 th Annual Slider Cook-off Featuring 7 Popular Puget Sound Restaurants

Tacoma, Wash.— On Saturday, March 28, Museum of Glass will host its fourth annual Slider Cook-off showcasing Puget Sound area restaurants battling to create the best slider for local celebrity judges and guests. The event, from 6:30 to 10:30pm, will feature slider tastings for guests, dancing to 1950s rock-and-roll classics performed by Daryl and the Diptones, and glassblowing by John Miller in the Hot Shop.

The special event was inspired by John Miller’s signature artwork Slider, which features a giant cheeseburger and was showcased in his exhibition, Gathering: John Miller and Friends.

Participating restaurants include Dirty Oscar’s Annex, Engine House No. 9, The Hub, Metropolitan Market, Pinky’s Barbeque, Stanley & Seaforts, and the Valley. Beer will be provided by Pacific Brewing & Malting Co. A panel of judges will choose the winner of the Best Slider Award and a People’s Choice Award winner will also be named by event guests. Winning chefs will receive a trophy made by John Miller.

“The Museum of Glass’s annual Slider Cook-off is one of my favorite foodie themed festivities of the year. Seeing some of Tacoma’s finest culinary talents welcome the challenge to combine compelling, delicious ingredients with hopes of going home champs means attendees get spoiled with some exquisite grub. Pair that with live music, art demonstrations, raffles, and wine in MOG's artsy ambiance John Miller and you pretty much have a perfect night and a unique Tacoma experience,” notes returning Slider judge Jackie Fender, founder of CreativeColloquy.com and foodie columnist for the Weekly Volcano.
