Shoreline Master Program Community Meeting on Sept. 5
The City of Tacoma’s Shoreline Master Program, updated in 2011 after four years of study and stakeholder discussion, received conditional approval by the Washington State Department of Ecology (WSDOE) on Aug. 19, 2013. In accordance with the State's guidelines, the City has 30 days, until Sept. 18, to accept, reject or propose alternatives to WSDOE’s conditions.
To learn more, residents are invited to a community meeting on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m., at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St., in room 708. The City Council will continue their discussion of the WSDOE’s conditional approval on Sept. 10 and consider options to respond for possible council action on Sept. 17. City staff will keep stakeholders informed through the process of formulating a response.
