Southbound I-5 exit to SR 7 closes for a month starting October 13

Construction crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the southbound Interstate 5 exit to State Route 7 at 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13.
The exit will remain closed around the clock until mid-November. A signed detour will be provided that directs motorists to SR 7 via Interstate 705 and State Route 509.
The closure will allow crews to build a new stormwater treatment facility as part of the I-5 - M Street to Portland Avenue – HOV project.
At 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13-14, the southbound I-5 exit to East 26th Street will close. The exit will reopen at 6 a.m. each following day.
Meanwhile, the A Street on-ramp to northbound I- 705/I- 5 remains closed until December. A signed detour also is in place for motorists.
Drivers can also expect single-lane closures during overnight hours in both directions of I-5 from M Street to Portland Avenue.
