SR 7 ramp to I-705 reopens four weeks early

TACOMA – Motorists will find the ramp from northbound State Route 7 to northbound Interstate 705 in Tacoma open for use. The ramp, which closed in mid-January, had been scheduled to reopen in mid-April when crews completed a construction project to seismically retrofit columns supporting bridges in the I-705/SR 7 and Interstate 5/M Street interchanges. Project efficiencies gained by restaging some of the work is credited for the early reopening. On Friday night, March 21, motorists can expect lane striping at M Street in Tacoma at I-5.
