Student Application Deadline Extended to April 10 for Summer Jobs 253

The application deadline for the 2015 Summer Jobs 253 program for Tacoma high school students has been extended to April 10.

This year, the program will serve 150 incoming juniors and seniors. Students who are interested in participating in the program this summer can contact their career counselor at their school or visit summerjobs253.com.

Summer Jobs 253 provides students with the opportunity to gain work experience, learn financial literacy skills and earn up to two high school credits toward graduation.

The program is also recruiting employers who are interested in hosting an intern during the summer for up to 96 hours as part of the program. Employer recruitment ends May 1. For more information contact Sara Atchison at satchison@reachtacoma.org.

Summer Jobs 253 was recognized in 2013 by the U.S. Conference of Mayors. The program is operated in partnership by the City of Tacoma, the Reach Center, Tacoma Public Schools and WorkForce Central and Tacoma Community House.
