Sunday Music at MOG Series “Rolls on” Febuary 1, 2015 Featuring the Gypsy Jazz of Pearl Django

Tacoma, Wash. — The Sunday Music at MOG jazz series continues with Pearl Django at 11 am on Febuary 1, 2015 in the Grand Hall. Brunch and beverages will be available for purchase from Choripan, the Museum Café, before and during the performance, with doors opening at 10:30am.

With performances covering almost two decades, Pearl Django brings their own Hot Club playing style to Museum of Glass. Voted by Seattle Weekly readers in 2003 as favorite area jazz band, Pearl Django are local mainstays that have experience abroad. Pulling inspiration from the legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, Pearl Django has a signature style marked by the band’s expert string work, steady pulse of rhythm guitar and unmistakable swing that reaches out to audiences of all musical sensibilities.

Seattle Weekly notes, "Pearl Django play(s) gypsy jazz…and they do it with such verve, skill and pleasure that they're pretty much irresistible to jazz and nonjazz listeners alike."

Pearl Django’s performance will be the second of the series sponsored by The Klorfine Foundation and KPLU-FM. Admission is $18, which includes all-day Museum access. Students and MOG members are free of charge. Doors open at 10:30 am and the performance begins at 11 am.
