Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland to Deliver 2016 State of the City Address on Feb. 24

In collaboration with the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Marilyn Strickland will deliver the 2016 State of the City Address on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the Hotel Murano Ballroom (1320 Broadway in Tacoma).

Speaking on the theme, Better Together, Strickland will review major accomplishments of 2015 and share plans for the new year on several topics including economic growth, neighborhood revitalization, transportation, Project PEACE and Tacoma2025.

In addition, Strickland will highlight the 2016 U.S. Conference of Mayors Compact, which challenges all 2016 presidential candidates to invest in and protect America's cities as part of their agenda.

Event attendees and members of the public are encouraged to engage with the mayor during her address using the #253SOTC Twitter hashtag.

"Tacoma is a welcoming community that made great strides in 2015, but we must continue to address structural issues that impede full progress,” said Strickland. "We are at our very best when we think big and work together. We must shape a city that works for every neighborhood, every community and ensures that every person has the opportunity to live up to their full potential."

Tickets are $25 for students. Tickets for general admission are $40 in advance. For more information, please contact Jennifer Chernut at the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce at (253) 683-4881 or visit the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce's website.
