Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity presents next film in quarterly series

TACOMA, WA – A viewing of the documentary “Living on One Dollar,” a look at three men’s struggle for survival while living on one dollar a day in rural Guatemala will take place next month.

The documentary, which is a part of Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity’s quarterly film series, highlights the need for help in cases of extreme poverty around the world. A discussion on how Habitat helps meet this need through its Global Village program will follow the film.

The Global Village program is Habitat’s effort to eradicate poverty in communities abroad with substandard housing and development challenges. Habitat forms volunteer teams to build affordable shelter for the people living in these communities. The Global Village program serves more than 40 countries abroad including the Guatemala, where the film is set.

The documentary will be shown on Monday, April 4, at The Grand Cinema, located at 606 S. Fawcett Ave., Tacoma, Wash. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and the film will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The event is free, but a $10 donation is suggested. Registration is required and seat reservations are available on Brown Paper Tickets. For more information, call (253) 627-5626 or email volunteer@tpc-habitat.org
