Tacoma’s Pacific Avenue on-ramp to I-5 closes for five weeks starting Monday, Feb. 9

Starting at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, crews will close the Pacific Avenue on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 in downtown Tacoma for five consecutive weeks. During the closure, crews will construct a new drainage system as part of its I-5: M Street to Portland Avenue - HOV project. 

This closure is the first of three for that ramp in the three-year construction project. Drivers will be detoured to I-5 via State Route 509 and Interstate 705 until the ramp reopens in mid-March.
