Tacoma’s Pacific Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-5 closes until mid-April

The Pacific Avenue on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 in Tacoma is closed around the clock until mid-April. The work is weather-dependent, and inclement weather could delay the reopening of the ramp. During the closure, crews will realign the ramp as part of I-5: M Street to Portland Avenue – HOV project. 

Drivers will be detoured via State Route 509 and Interstate 705 until the ramp reopens. Drivers are encouraged to plan extra time into their commute. 

Long term ramp closures 

Northbound SR 7 on-ramp to southbound I-5 is closed for construction through winter 2017. 

A Street on-ramp to northbound I-5/southbound SR 7 is closed for construction through project completion.
