Tacoma’s Walking and Bicycling Status Report

What is the status on the City of Tacoma’s effort to support walking and bicycling? Find out at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29 as staff present 2013 accomplishments and planned 2014 enhancements in the Olympic Room at the downtown Tacoma Public Library, 1102 South Tacoma Ave. The Office of Environmental Policy and Sustainability (OEP&S) invites residents to come out and learn about active transportation in Tacoma including:
- $2.5 million for pedestrian improvements
- Trail and bikeway facilities
- Upcoming Transportation Master Plan opportunities
A short presentation will be followed by a discussion and chance to ask questions and make comments.
The Tacoma OEP&S serves to research, develop and make recommendations on sustainable practices and policies, track progress, promote sustainable practices, and establish community partnerships. Tacoma is 4 STAR-certified community.
