Talk Technology and the Community at the South Sound Technology Conference

TACOMA, WASH. — Join UW Tacoma on Friday, March 6, from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the South Sound Technology Conference. The conference will feature keynote speaker Bill Boni, vice president of information security for T-Mobile USA.

The conference will be led by honorary co-chairs Representative Derek Kilmer and Representative Adam Smith. It will inspire conversation on technology topics relevant to the South Sound, including:
The event will also share recent UW Tacoma student research and success stories from the 1 Million Cups Tacoma entrepreneur education program.

  • Securing data on the cloud
  • Transitioning to a career in cybersecurity

The South Sound Technology Conference morning keynote features Janine Terrano, CEO of Topia Technology, creator of Secrata, an enterprise platform for secure data and file transfer. The lunch keynote will be given by Boni, a 30-year information-protection specialist and recipient of CSO Magazine’s Compass Award and Information Security Executive of the Year – Central in 2007.
