Thank You for Your Support, Metro Parks Voters

On April 22, Earth Day, registered voters in Tacoma, Browns Point and Dash Point supported Metro Parks Tacoma’s 2014 Neighborhood Parks & Zoo Improvements and Safety Upgrades Bond.
Passage requires 60%, plus one and as of April 23, the measure had a 64.5% approval rate. Ballots will continue to be tallied in the all-mail election which will be certified on May 6.
This means residents will see plenty of improvements and updates continue throughout the park district through 2024. The public investment will help preserve and protect our century-old park system, through needed replacement of the 51-year old North Pacific Aquarium, updates to our regional and neighborhood parks, restoration of natural areas and preservation of our historic assets. The bond also provides partnership funding to support development of a new community center to serve the Eastside.
