The Tacoma Film Festival 2014 Official Poster Revealed!

On Monday afternoon The Tacoma Film Festival (TFF) unveiled the official 2014 TFF poster designed by The Art Dept., a Tacoma based boutique design firm co-owned and run by Peter and Sarah Berkley.

“We wanted to play with the escapist whimsy of cinema to create a surreal design, one that was inspired by the interaction of light with space but—like a good film—is imbued with some added layers of visual meaning,” explains Peter Berkley.

Only formally introduced this year, TFF staff and the Berkleys have been mutual fans of each other for years without realizing it.  

 “When we realized that one small team had designed many of our favorite posters for Seattle and Tacoma arts events AND that they lived in Tacoma we knew we had to reach out to them,” says TFF Director Laura Marshall.

“We're big fans of TFF and The Grand Cinema,” adds Peter. “Sarah and I make it a point to attend as many screenings as we can.”  

This year’s Tacoma Film Festival will be held October 9-16. Film selections will begin to be announced in August, tickets will go on sale in August, and registration for industry and media members is now open.
