Guest Artists in the Hot Shop
March 12 - Brian Farmer
Brian Farmer began blowing glass during his senior year at Wilson High School in Tacoma. After high school he spent the summer interning at the Museum of Glass. In 2007 Tacoma Glassblowing Studio hired Farmer, where he is currently a member of the glassblowing team. He also works for other artists in the Pacific Northwest, and assists them with their art.
March 26 - Jake Merritt
Merritt began searching through different art mediums looking for the one that felt just right. During his junior year in high school, glass became just that. While participating in the Hilltop Artist in Residency program, an almost immediate passion was developed, as well as a drive to turn it into a career. After graduating high school, Merritt became a full time employee at Tacoma Glassblowing Studio, where he currently resides as a glass artist and instructor.
