Traffic Alert for Point Defiance Park

Due to the Sound to Narrows race Saturday, June 9, visitors to Point Defiance Park should expect road closures and traffic backups until at least 11 am. 

The Mildred Street entrance will be closed to cars during the Sound to Narrows race.

The Pearl Street entrance will be open and cars will be allowed into the parking areas immediately adjacent to the bowl and rose garden, as well as the parking lot near the go-kart track. Cars will not be allowed beyond that point.

Regular access to the park is expected to be restored by 11 am.

• Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
All locations inside Point Defiance Park, including Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, will be accessible by foot during the road closures.

• Fort Nisqually Living History Museum
Fort Nisqually will open at Noon on Saturday, June 9.

• Point Defiance Marina, Boat Launch and Ferry Dock
Cars will be allowed to access the Ferry Dock and Marina but drivers should expect heavy congestion on Pearl Street and at the entrance to the park.
