Triangle parking lot at Point Defiance to temporarily close Aug. 25 and 26 for pipe installation

Metro Parks and the City of Tacoma are making progress on excavation of the new boat trailer parking area and the new stormwater treatment facility at the Triangle. The next major step will be installation of a drain pipe from the facility to the Sound.
The pipe will cross the temporary entrance to the Triangle, so parks staff intend to close the parking area on Aug. 25 and 26. Metro Parks staff picked those days because Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the days of least use.
Parking will still be available in parking lots B and C, and marina staff can help guide boaters to other locations as needed.
From Aug. 27 to 29, contractors expect to work on the in-water portion of the project near Lane 8 of the launch. Normal operation of the launch is expected to continue.
