Volunteers Needed for Committees Preparing For & Against Statements on Proposed Charter Amendments

The City Clerk's Office is looking for volunteers to serve on committees preparing "For" or "Against" statements on each proposed amendment to the Tacoma City Charter. These statements will appear in the Voters' Pamphlet for the general election on Nov. 4, 2014.
To apply, one would need to submit a letter of interest indicating which amendment(s) he or she is advocating for or against. Letters must be received by 5 p.m. on July 7, 2014 in the City Clerk's Office at 733 Market Street, Room 11, Tacoma, WA 98402, or to charterreview@cityoftacoma.org.
On July 16, 2014, Government Performance and Finance Committee members will review letters of interest and forward their member recommendations to the City Council. Each “For” and “Against” committee shall consist of no more than three members.
On July 22, 2014, the City Council will consider a resolution appointing the "For" and "Against" committees.
