Restless crowd wants Tacoma to keep control of Click network

It's not every day that a public meeting to discuss the future of a branch of a public utility involves shouting and throwing things at the stage, but that's part of what happened at this week's first town hall event on the future of Tacoma's Click! network.
The crowd that showed up for the open house hosted by TPU didn't like the "instant polling" method TPU wanted to use to gather input. The general sentiment about the proposed deal to lease Click! to Wave Broadband didn't seem to get much support either.
If you missed this week's action-packed meeting, you still have one more chance to join the conversation. The second of two town halls on the proposal will be held on Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m. at the Tacoma Public Utilities headquarters at South 35th Street.
