Tacoma's Brown & Haley is staying in U.S.A., despite high sugar prices

We're not quite sure whether it says more about the current economy or the media environment that a business not moving makes headlines, but there it is.

Brown & Haley will be staying in the US, unlike a number of other candy manufacturers who have been jumping ship, bound for countries where their ingredients (especially sugar) are cheaper.

The Tacoma-based maker of Almond Roca expects to see half of its sales come from overseas customers - customers who apparently value the "made in the USA" cred of the B&H brand. It's all about quality.
