Why the South Sound IPA Festival is important & why you should go

The question posed by this article seems like a no-brainer, if you ask us, but there may be more to it than we thought.

Tacoma's newest beer festival, the South Sound IPA Festival (not in any way affiliated with the defunct Craft Beer Festival), is put on by the Washington Beer Commission, which hosts large-scale beer events, including the Father's Day Washington Brewers' Festival in Redmond, and Belgianfest in Seattle, to name a couple.

The SS IPA Fest is the WA Beer Commission's first foray into Tacoma. From the sound of it, they're gauging interest in a larger beer festival in Tacoma. They may be interested in a large-scale Tacoma beer festival, but they want to see community support for it.

So, if you care about the Tacoma beer scene, it seems like it might just be your civic duty to drink some IPA this weekend...
