Callaghan Takes City Council to Therapy
Peter Callaghan at the News Tribune has put together an almost real transcript of our City Council on a psychiatrst’s couch. I like it.
Mayor Bill Baarsma: We need your help, doc. While we were sanctioning Tom last week, someone suggested that he needs counseling. Hearing that made my head spin because I realized we all need counseling.
Dr. C: Tom? Tom Stenger? I’m familiar with him from the medical journals. Fascinating case studies.
Tom Stenger: You’re a bigot!
Baarsma: That’s unnecessary, Tom. Don’t make me bang my gavel.
Stenger: You know what you can do with that gavel!
Dr. C: Everyone, please. We need some ground rules for our group therapy sessions. Everyone must agree to be courteous in their language and deportment. We mustn’t engage in contemptuous or disorderly behavior or indulge in derogatory remarks.
Stenger: (Expletive) you!
Ahhh… This is what keeps our city government interesting.

maybe they’ll “compromise” next and in exchange for not getting sued, the city will surrender naming rights to the Tacoma Dome…. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! MONSTER JAM AT THE CLEAR CHANNEL DOME IN TACOMA! SEE THE RETURN OF NATURAL HIGH BUT FIRST A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THE CHILD WE KILLED A COUPLE YEARS AGO…(awkward sound of stadium seats, soft drink slurping)… AN NOW BACK TO THE RAGE OF STEEL GASOLINE MOTOR MURDER! Personally, I am much more annoyed with the huge, very bright digital billboards on I-5 right near the Pierce-King line. They’re so distracting, especially at night! Aaugh.

I have a question for the Mayor… How GREEN are digital/traditional billboards?
How many CFL bulbs = One Digital billboard?
How many electric cars can you charge from electricity that would normally go into a digital billboard?
