City Council Preview for June 24th

As we look toward this week’s agendas, tomorrow’s City Council meeting seems like it could be interesting. Last week we had public hearing after public hearing. This week we actually get to see how the votes will go. So, what are we watching tomorrow?

Resolution No. 37503
Authorizing the execution of an eight-year Multi-Family Housing Limited Property Tax Exemption agreement with Brad Major, for the construction of two duplexes representing four new townhouse style condominium units, located at 4327 South Cedar Street, in the Tacoma Mall Mixed-Use Center.

Resolution No. 37515
Authorizing the execution of agreements with ProLogis and BNSF Railway Company for the proposed sale of surplus property, possible vacation of right-of-way, and granting an air space easement for future pedestrian access.

Amended Ordinance No. 27723
Amending Chapter 8.97 of the Municipal Code, relating to public safety at the City’s official Fourth of July celebration, to authorize police officers to require persons violating the law to leave the designated “public area” during and for a period of time after the festivities; adopting criminal penalties for persons failing to obey such police orders; updating penalty provisions and code refernces, and declaring an emergency.
