Garden Festival Weekend to Benefit Japanese Garden

Metro Parks and the Point Defiance Flower and Garden Show are looking for volunteers to plan and execute a new event to benefit the Japanese Garden around the newly re-opened Pagoda at Point Defiance.
A Garden Festival Weekend, September 26-27, 2014, celebrates local, sustainable gardening with a farm to table dinner on Friday evening plus workshops, speakers, a garden marketplace, entertainment and more on Saturday.

Volunteers with a passion for Point Defiance and an interest in sharing local, sustainable, community, earth-friendly and creative ways to grow…from the beauty of flowers, to the fresh harvest of foods…are needed to help.
We remember a previous incarnation of the Point Defiance Flower and Garden Show, but with with a "farm to table dinner" and beekeeping workshops, this event sounds like it's been updated. It looks like something we should probably check out. Do you want to help?
