Metro Parks Public Meetings

Metro Parks is hitting the ground running this year with a couple of opportunities for public input.

Manitou Community Center

MP will be holding a public comment session today to gather input on the future of the Manitou Community Center. This will be the second of two sessions on the proposal to surplus the Center. The building hasn’t been used for regular Metro Parks programming since 2005. The new STAR (South Tacoma Activity & Recreation) Center, scheduled to open this year, will take its place. The plan now is to sell the building, which once housed Manitou Elementary School.
