Murray Morgan Bridge Short-Term Closure

Another short-term closure is scheduled for the Murray Morgan Bridge beginning this Friday, March 29, through Sunday, March 31 at 12 noon.

The Murray Morgan Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic to complete the installation of steel channels that are blocked by the counterweights when the bridge is in the down position. In addition, this closure will be used to complete stenciling of the counterweights which was postponed earlier in the year due to weather. The lift span will be in the up position for marine traffic during this closure.

Based on the description of the work, we’re guessing it will be closed to pedestrian traffic as well. After this weekend closure, we’re told the only work remaining will be the installation of security fencing and the completion of the elevator and stairs.
