New Metro Parks Website - What Do You Think?
Metro Parks Tacoma has a new website. The new site, which replaces the seven-year old previous model, came with a $65,000 price tag, according to an article today in The News Tribune. For that price, Metro Parks got a new design, with updated functionality.

The new site gives users a handy new Park Finder tool that allows them to search for parks by amenities, by name, or by location. The amenities list is particularly useful; we even learned a thing or two about some of Tacoma’s parks. The dog parks and amenities page is also quite informative, with a thorough list of dog-friendly sites and events, as well as etiquette pointers, some updates on proposed off-leash areas, and other resources. Very helpful (and we love the header picture).
We like the new look, and the search function is quick and easy to use. One function we didn’t find was any sort of project update for parks currently getting work done. Maybe we weren’t looking in the right places… but we always found that section of the old site helpful and informative.
Other than that, the new design is looking pretty good; what do you think?

$65K….isn’t that a little steep for “new design and updated functionality?”

Hmm…when I look into adult sports I find that soccer registration is available for the start of the December, 2011 season. Trying to click through to add myself to a “players seeking teams” list redirects to a broken, internal link.
Looks like money well spent.

according to the website with “improved functionality” there is a height requirement to use the Metro Parks swimming pools but it neglects to inform you what the requirement is.

Is that the Windows XP background as the new website background?
