Sneak Peak: City Council Agenda Review

Coming up this week are a couple items that might be of interest to you:

Budget: Revenue Update
The City Council study session today will focus on revenue updates in the ongoing attempt to tame the budget beast. Staff will update the Council on October General Fund revenue numbers. No public comment, but it’s an important part of the conversation over just how deep cuts will need to be. Listen in at noon, in person at the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16, or on TV Tacoma..

Shoreline Master Program
In other news, at this evening’s City Council meeting, we will hear the first reading of
Ordinance No. 28034 Adopting the Shoreline Master Program, which amends the Comprehensive Plan and the Land Use Regulatory Code, establishes both new and modified environmental designations and zoning classifications, amends zoning district
boundaries, and reclassifies certain properties to the new and revised shoreline
zoning districts.
You will have the opportunity to comment on this one, and we know there are a lot of you with opinions on the matter.

Public Hearings
The public will also have the opportunity to comment tonight on both the Six-Year Comprehensive Transportation Program and proposed modifications to the 2011-2012 Biennial Budget. We hope to see you there.
