Tacoma City Council Meeting - March 3rd, 2009
The Tacoma City Council meeting last night seemed to pass by with little debate or conflict. So what happened? It’s short:
RESOLUTIONS
Purchase Resolution No. 37740 was in four parts. It included resolutions for spare parts for Ford vehicles, asphault, paper, and money for the Chinese Reconiliation Park Phase 2.
Resolution No. 37741 authorized the execution of an agreement with the Metropolitan Development Council, in the amount of $397,090 to continue the Housing First Chronic Homeless Elimination Initiative.
Resolution No. 37742 and Resolution No. 37743 authorized an additional $350k for GordonDerr LLP for legal services related to “various publc works and land use matters” and the continuing North Shore Golf Course saga.
FIRST READING OF ORDINANCES
Ordinance No. 27791 would continue the Business Improvement Area (BIA) for the 22nd year and providing for the levy of assessments and other income in the amount of $842,300; and approving the work plan, budget, and assessment of rates from May 1, 2009 through April 30, 2010. The BIA supports an 84 block area in downtown Tacoma. More information at TacomaBIA.org. The Council will vote next week.
