Tacoma City Council Meeting - May 12th, 2009

We watched last night’s City Council meeting, although it was pretty low key there’s still some business to pass along. That said, it was City of Destiny awards night and the agenda moved quickly.

RESOLUTIONS
Purchase Resolution No. 37791 awarding contracts to:

1. Pierce County Security, Inc., on its bid of $120,697.00 for security guard services for the Tacoma Municipal Building and Tacom Municipal Building North.

2. Asphalt Patch Systems, Inc., in the amount of $40,000.00 for a cumulative total of $354,805.00 to increase the contract for the 2008 Sidewalk Maintenance Program Phase I.

Resolution No. 37792 authorizes the submittal of the 2009-2010 Annual Action Plan of the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development by May 15, 2009.

Resolution No. 37793 adopts the 2009 Substantial Amendment to the 2008-2009 Annual Action Plan of the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development to include Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing funding from the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and authorizing the submittal of the Substantial Amendment to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Resolution No. 37794 authorizes the submittal of an application to the United States Department of Justice for a $2,167,783 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant to support various crime reduction efforts.
